Sheguiandah First Nation

We have received reports of ongoing garbage dumping in remote areas of the community. We are taking this issue seriously and will pursue legal action to the fullest extent of the law against those responsible.
Sheguiandah First Nation asks those responsible to stop dumping garbage on community and public lands. Illegal dumping damages the environment, poses health and safety risks, and unnecessarily burdens the community. Let’s show we take pride in our community.
Sheguiandah First Nation pays the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin Islands (NEMI) a fee so community members can dispose of household waste at the landfill. We encourage all members to use this service for responsible waste disposal.
Thank you for protecting our lands and helping keep Shkaakaamikwe (Mother Earth) clean for all to enjoy.
