Sheguiandah First Nation Chief and Council have announced that the Nation is purchasing the Ten-Mile Point property. The purchase is an opportunity to build a community asset that supports culture and heritage, local artists and makers, community gathering, employment and training, Indigenous tourism, and sustainable economic development.
Planning for the property will be community-led. Future engagement will help shape the site’s business model, cultural safeguards, environmental responsibilities, programming, and priorities. Chief and Council will share engagement opportunities, timelines, and further updates as planning progresses.
