DESCRIPTION:Honouring Our Residential School Survivors. Everyone welcome! \nJoin Sheguiandah First Nation on July 4 and 5\, 2026 for our 37th Annual Jiingtamok. Celebrating culture\, honouring Survivors\, building our future. \nSchedule\n\nSunrise Ceremony: Thursday to Sunday\, 5:00 AM\nGrand Entry: Saturday 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM\, Sunday 12:00 PM\nFeast and Fireworks: Saturday\n\nPow Wow Staff\n\nMC: Greg “The Goose” Sutherland\nCo-MC: Nathan Shawanda\nArena Director: Sunset Sagutch\nHost Drum: Highridge\nHead Male Dancer: Richard Tabobondung\nHead Youth Dancers: TBA\nHead Elder: TBA\n\nCamping and Logistics\n\nCamper breakfast Saturday and Sunday at the Band Office\nRough camping available\nNo RV parking on the grounds\, please follow the signs\nNo generators after 11:00 PM\nNo water or hydro hookups\n\nPow Wow Etiquette\nBoozhoo\, welcome\, biindigen. Pow Wow is a joyful community gathering with sacred moments. Please help us honour the dancers\, singers\, Elders and traditions by following these respectful guidelines. \n\nListen to the MC. The MC explains what is happening and shares instructions throughout.\nStand in respect. Stand and remove hats when requested for Grand Entry\, prayers\, Flag Songs\, Veterans Songs\, Honour Songs and other ceremonial moments.\nAsk before taking photos. Ask before photographing or recording dancers. No recording of ceremonies\, Honour Songs\, or the Sacred Fire when restricted.\nRespect the regalia. Dancers wear regalia\, not costumes. Do not touch a dancer or their regalia without permission.\nHonour the dance arena. Do not enter or cross the arena unless invited by the MC. Walk around the outside.\nLeave fallen items in place. If an eagle feather or a piece of regalia falls\, do not pick it up. Quietly notify the Arena Director or MC.\nRespect the drums. Do not touch drums or equipment unless invited.\nHelp keep the grounds safe. This is a drug and alcohol free gathering. Supervise children\, use waste bins\, and follow the pet policy.\nCome in a good way. Bring a lawn chair\, support Indigenous artists and vendors\, and ask respectful questions at appropriate times. Visitors are encouraged to join intertribal dances when invited.\n\nMiigwech for joining us with kindness and respect. Community protocols may vary.
